High speed action came to Turkey in 2004 as the country hosted the World Rally Championships. The race took place in June on a challenging 1178-km circuit starting in the seaside resort of Kemer, near Antalya, and winding high into the stunning Taurus Mountains.
Spectators were able to watch the thrills and spills of the Super Special Stages - with the world’s top drivers battling it out head-to-head - from designated areas along the course. The Kemer pits were also be open to the public and there were concerts and live events in the town each evening.
Rally organisers hope to become a regular host of the World Championships, so watch this space for information about next years race.
