Kemer is a modern seaside resort favoured mainly by German and Russian tourists for it's sandy beaches and large, well-equipped hotels. Cobbled streets lined with shops and boutiques lead down to the town's harbour and a 200-berth marina, which are overlooked by several restaurants.
Water-sports are a popular activity or charter boats are available to ferry visitors to the ruins of ancient Phaselis nearby. The turtle beach and ancient city of Olympos are just a short drive away; and in summer the rushing mountain stream and trout restaurants of Pinarbasi are a popular local destination.
Kemer is hosting the 2004 Rally of Turkey.
