Gocek is a small resort and an important yachting centre. Backed by forested mountains, the town has four large marinas, including the recently built 500-berth Port Gocek Marina.
Situated at the north end of the island-studded Gulf of Fethiye, the possibilities for cruising, as well as snorkelling, diving and fishing, from Gocek are excellent. For land-based visitors there are hotels and guest houses along the pedestrianised promenade, as well as restaurants, cafes and shops (see right).
Getting There
Gocek is a 30 minute drive from Dalaman airport.
There are regular buses along the coast road to Fethiye and Izmir, via Dalaman, Ortaca and Mugla.
