Because of the size of the country, if you’re short of time or dislike long road or rail journeys, then flying is the answer. Until recently Turkish Airlines had a monopoly on domestic flights and prices were high compared to Europe. However, this year two private companies have brought the “no-thrills” concept to Turkey with cut-price fares on a number of routes. Unfortunately, neither company has an English website yet, though this is set to change soon.
