Not to be missed by opera and ballet fans is the International Aspendos Festival, with performances taking place in the stunning 10,000 seat Roman amphitheatre at Aspendos, near Antalya and Side.
Enjoy the atmospheric surroundings and excellent acoustics of this 2,000 year-old venue (they don’t build them like they used to!), with highlights from the 2004 program including Pucini’s Madam Butterfly performed by the Istanbul State Opera and A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Milan’s La Scala Ballet.
Tickets are available in advance from the Aspendos ticket office, as well as the Antalya, Alanya and Side Archeology Museums.
Watch this space for the summer 2005 program!
